Titantic/The Call of the Wild.

The cost of life is very important for those that are responsible for it. Everyone is responsible for a life at some point. Whether it is their own, or someone else they are watching over, it happens to the best of us. Now some unresponsible people may be inarticulate to this idea, but most understand. In the Titanic mothers were responsible for their children that they had with them on the boat. Also the fathers were in charge of helping keep their whole families lives safe.
The Call of the Wild has a few more examples of the cost of living. When buck becomes alpha dog and begins to lead the pack, he had to stay positive and strong for his pack. When the going got rough he was there to keep the pack going. Like when Buck and his "family" were sold to Hal, Charles, and Mercedes. He was in charge of keeping the others in line and out of danger, like death. So when they had to pull the extra heavy luggage, when the excess luggage fell Buck tried to show the owners it was to much by running faster and harder. He did that to show them they had expected too much, and he wanted to keep his "family" strong and healthy and he did not want them to push them to hard to where they could not go on.
Have you ever had to watch over family or friends or a pet? Well next time you do I want you to think about how you have a life in your hands and what it would be like if you lost that life while you were watching over that person or thing. How important is a life to you?
